2013I am Dennis and I am medical disabled and retired from the Army. From 1978 to 1982 I was raised at Cal Farley’s boys’ ranch in Amarillo, Texas until my graduation. My first job was as a butcher at Safeway Foods in Duncan, Oklahoma. Then I joined the Army in September 1982.

I have traveled all around the world with the Army, from Central America to Afghanistan. I have been in four military police actions and three combat engagements in my Army career. I was sent to Nicaragua, Honduras, Columbia, Bolivia and Panama. I was injured in Afghanistan and also went to Iraq.

I have 4 kid’s two boys and two girls ranging from 9 to 27 years old. My oldest son Christopher Thomas Linam died in Iraq in 2006 with the United States Army. I now live in Chickasha, Oklahoma with my wife Angela and dog; Ginger.

1982 – 1983 Old Guard, Presidents Escort, Security and Cassion Rider, Ft Myer, VA.

1983 – 1987 Panama, Bravo Co. 187th infantry, South America, Ft. Clayton, Team leader. Supervisor of a 5 man dragon combat team.

1987 – 1990 Ft. Jackson, Columbia, SC. Drill Instructor Army. Training 40 to 50 person platoons for two and one half years.

1988 – 1990 Barton’s Protective Services Columbia, SC.

1990 – 1993 Over the road driver, Builders transport, Dallas, TX.

1993 – 2002 Halliburton’s services in Laredo, TX. , Duncan, OK. , and Burnsflat, OK. Service supervisor in the cement department.

2002 – 2009 Army National Guard of Oklahoma. Recruiter two years, Section Sgt. and Platoon sergeant. Two combat tours.

2005 -2006 Afghanistan, Charley Co 1/180th, 45th infantry assigned to the 10th Mountain division, Army Commendation Metal and the Combat Infantry badge. Headquarters Platoon Sergeant and Mortars Section Sergeant in the Korngal Valley.

2007 – 2008 Iraq, Alpha Co. 1/180th, 45th infantry, Bronze Star, the Combat Infantry badge first star. Platoon Sergeant. Charged with over 100M in equipment, the health and welfare of 53 person platoon, and over 5000 Iraq detainees for 14 months. In a combat environment.

2009 – 2011 Platoon sergeant for the state of Oklahoma’s ready reaction force, Charley Co. 180, 45 infantry.

2011 – 2014 Student at the University of Phoenix.

2013 – present CFBRAA veterans and membership committee member.

2014 – present News intern with George Plummer at KOOL 105.5 and The Ranch 106.1 radio in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

2014 – present Elected to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni Association Board of Directors.
